It has been rewarding to see how everything we have learned is coming together and making meaningful connections. Gaining exposure to the ISTE Standards has helped me understand how technology can be integrated into lesson planning. As mentioned in the course, ISTE is not just about using technology but it is also about enhancing student learning through technology.

Throughout this course, we have explored how to implement technology effectively, and creating the ISTE lesson plan was a valuable experience. It allowed me to reflect on how I can purposefully use digital tools in my teaching. Although developing the lesson took some time, I truly enjoyed the process. One new skill I gained was learning how to use the RubiStar website to create a rubric. It was both fun and useful. I can definitely see myself using it in my future lesson planning. 

I really appreciate that the professor provided a variety of websites for us to choose from when creating our activities. For example, while working on the digital image assignment, I had the chance to explore tools like WordArt, StoryboardThat, and AvatarMaker. The first step with most of these platforms was to create an account and explore their features. One challenge I noticed is that some websites offer limited access unless you pay for a subscription, which can be a drawback. However, even with the basic free features, these tools still offer creative and engaging opportunities for both teachers and students. Introducing students to these platforms can make learning more interactive and enjoyable.

This is my first time taking an online class, and I must admit, it is a bittersweet feeling. On one hand, I'm unsure of what to expect. On the other, I'm genuinely excited about all the new things I will be learning along the way. It is also my first time creating a blog! It was really interesting to read about the advantages and benefits of using social media in education and inside classrooms. I strongly agree that schools can use social media to organize group projects, communicate with students outside of class, share resources, and much more. In addition, social media has the potential to connect schools to the wider community. I currently work as a substitute teacher for LAUSD. Recently, I taught at Diego Rivera Learning Complex- Green Design High School, where I saw a great example of how social media is used. Students in the media production club record videos throughout the week and share school news every Friday. This activity helps students get involved and be creative while making videos. Students also use Instagram to share school news and promote different clubs. We're now in the fourth week of school, and things are definitely getting busier. Reading about Web 3.0 and how it has evolved from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0 really got me thinking, it reminded me of the movie iRobot . I know that might sound a bit funny, but it’s amazing (and a little scary) to see how quickly the internet is changing. It's no longer just on our computers but soon it will be everywhere! I want to stay hopeful that these changes will benefit society and lead to even more innovative ways for us to connect online. One thing that really stood out to me from our readings is how our use of the internet has grown and will keep growing. What fascinated me most was learning that we are not just consuming content but we are actually creating it. That really hit home for me, especially as I write this blog post.
